Let’s get into the details.
The official powder bathroom tour. This is one of my favorite rooms in the house. Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed every aspect of this house but I had a distinct vibe and impression that I wanted to make when it came to the powder bath... Bold and moody. Since this will be the bathroom guests will be using most often, I did want to add those extra details to hopefully make our guests feel super spoiled and welcome. It's always fun to look at the process of a space, so let's look back to a time when our powder bathroom was still under construction.
Trim-Work
I follow a blogger and home designer on Instagram that shared this beautiful accent trim in her house. I immediately loved how it elevated the space. The trim-work details aren’t too traditional and aren’t too modern, it’s the perfect middle point. We ended up doing this same design in two other rooms. It is a one-inch mdf, you could go thinner to create an even finer effect. You can see that the door to the powder bathroom is a white oak door. We only have two of these in the entire house and we wanted them to be in areas that would make a statement.
Tile
This marble floor was one of the first products that I knew I needed in my home. Since the powder bathroom is a small space I knew I could splurge just a little. This is the Bianco Dolomite Geometrica 12 in. x 12 in. x 10 mm Polished Marble Mosaic Tile. We used Mapei 77 Frost for the grout color. We did have this marble sealed and I will say, with this as my first experience with marble, I am happy I didn’t use much throughout our home. Marble tends to stain easily and i’m such a rookie when it comes to marble i’m still learning how to care for these floors.
Paint and Hardware
To bring in the moodiness we had this entire room painted Iron Ore by Sherwin Williams. I do think Iron Ore has more of a blue and grey undertone depending on lighting. These towel bars by Brizo are my absolute favorite. To shop my home and similar recommendations I do have all sources linked here. These are affiliate links and I do appreciate the support! Becki Owens X Hudson Valley Lighting Sconce in Brass are such a great price and add a special touch.
Custom Vanity
To top it off we we had this custom quartz countertop installed. There is a wood frame underneath to support the quartz countertop. The quartz we used is beautiful and we used it throughout majority of our home. It is called Della Terra New Venatino Beige and has the most subtle and natural looking veining. Then to complete this powder bathroom there is a solid white oak shelf stained with the Zar Beach House Stain. We had this stain professionally applied by the custom cabinet maker that did all our cabinetry in our house. Then we had LED lighting installed by the electrician to add that glow for evening get togethers. I hope you enjoyed this deeper look into the powder bathroom. Excited to share more rooms with you in the future.
